Families Connected will host a Get Air Day every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 pm. at 4211 W. 11th Ave. Parents will have a chance to connect while children play. Parents must remain on site while their children play. The cost is $5 per child and includes Get Air socks for first time visitors. If parents bring personal support workers (PSWs) to help supervise children, the PSWs can jump for free. All participants (adults and children) must complete a waiver that can be found on the Get Air website prior to jumping. At 3:00 p.m., librarians will collect all the illustrations and hang them on the wall, working together to decide the order. After the order is decided, the group will find a story that connects all the illustrations. The librarian will keep the drawings to make copies, type up and “bind” the story so that each participant can have a copy. Original illustrations with a copy of the story will be able to be picked up at the library’s front desk by July 15. Registration is required for this event to ensure we have enough time, supplies, and space for everyone.

Families Connected will host a Get Air Day every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 pm. at 4211 W. 11th Ave. Parents will have a chance to connect while children play. Parents must remain on site while their children play. The cost is $5 per child and includes Get Air socks for first time visitors. If parents bring personal support workers (PSWs) to help supervise children, the PSWs can jump for free. All participants (adults and children) must complete a waiver that can be found on the Get Air website prior to jumping. The Japanese American Association of Lane County will host its annual Obon and Taiko Festival on Sat., July 27 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Alton Baker Park, located at 100 Day Island Rd. This free festival will share the music and folk dancing of the Japanese culture. Taiko drummers will perform traditional music as dancers, some in tradtional dress, form a dance circle. This event is informal and families are welcome to bring picnics and sit on the grass while observing and participating in community dancing.
There will be a Dark Sky Star Party at 9 p.m. on Sat., July 27 at the west end of Dexter Reservoir in Lowell. Dozens of astronomers will be there with telescopes for families to view the stars. Please do not use white-light flashlights, cell phones or cameras with flash at this event, as it makes it difficult for others to see. Instead, be surprised by how well your eyes adjust to darkness in just a few short minutes. If the weather is bad, the event will be rescheduled.

The Eugene Public Library will host Minecrafters on Tues., July 30 from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the downtown library, located at 100 W. 10th Ave. Kids ages six through 12 years can play together, share tips and get creative with building challenges on the library’s computers.
The Springfield Public Library will host a Teens Program on Tues., July 30 from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. at 225 5th St. This week, teens will play mini-golf at Camp Putt.

Funagain Games hosts Board Game Night every Tuesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. at 1280 Willamette St. Choose games from Funagain Games’ extensive demo library, and hang out and play in the game lounge with family or friends. The Springfield Public Library will host a free Preschool Storytime on Wed., July 31 from 10 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at 225 5th St. This story time features books, songs, rhymes, music and activities designed to support early literacy skills. Families are invited to stay and play in the library after.
Family Music Time will be held on Wed., July 31 from 10:15 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. at the downtown library, located at 100 W. 10th Ave. Families will enjoy live music by professional performers.
The Creswell Library will host a Bountiful Beavers event on Wed., July 31 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Creswell Library, located at 64 W. Oregon Ave. The Willamette Resources and Educational Network will teach kids and youth about beavers, nature’s engineers who live right in Oregon.
The Eugene Public Library will host Shark Time on Wed., July 31 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the downtown library, located at 100 W. 10th Ave. Kids and their families will learn about sharks with the Oregon Coast Aquarium.
The Springfield Public Library will host a free Harry Potter Birthday Party on Wed., July 31 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 225 5th St. Guests will visit various stations set up to mimic Harry’s first ever trip to Diagon Alley. Participants will make a wand, spellbook and more. Registration for this event is required to ensure the library has enough space, supplies and time for everyone.
Teens are invited to Make Inkblot Creatures on Wed., July 31 from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Sheldon library, located at 1566 Coburg Rd. Teens ages 11 to 17 will spill ink, blow it into a design with straws and canned air, then color with markers and pencils to create a creature.
Teens are invited to play Dungeons and Dragons on Wed., July 31 at the downtown library, located at 100 W. 10th Ave. There will be two sessions, with the first session starting at 3 p.m. and the second session starting at 4:30 p.m. Learn how to create a character, how to play and then jump into this tabletop gaming adventure. Due to limited spaces, each teen may participate in only one session each day.
Families Connected will host a Get Air Day every Wednesday from 5 p.m. to 6 pm. at 4211 W. 11th Ave. Parents will have a chance to connect while children play. Parents must remain on site while their children play. The cost is $5 per child and includes Get Air socks for first time visitors. If parents bring personal support workers (PSWs) to help supervise children, the PSWs can jump for free. All participants (adults and children) must complete a waiver that can be found on the Get Air website prior to jumping. There will be a Concert in the Park on Wed., July 31 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Bohemia Park Amphitheater, located at 101 S. 10th St. in Cottage Grove. This week, the Calvary Creek will entertain.
Families are invited to Get Outdoors on Green Island on Sat., June 1 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at 31799-31601 Green Island Rd. in Eugene. Green Island is the McKenzie River Trust’s largest protected property and will open to the public to give families the opportunity to explore.
The Shelton McMurphey Johnson House will host a Break Out of Time Escape Room Event on Sat., June 1 at 303 Willamette St. There will be two themed escape rooms open throughout the day from noon to 9:30 p.m. Participants will have only 30 minutes to make it out. The rooms are for two to 10 people. There will be 13 sessions of each room per day. Children of all ages are welcome, although children 12 and under need a paying adult to play with them and teens ages 14 to 17 need to be accompanied by an adult, either playing or in the lobby. The cost is $20 per person.
